Town Halls
When did company or project meetings start being called “town halls”?

Furthermore… why do people who work in offices feel bound to create euphemisms for perfectly workable phrases?
“opportunities”? “resources”? and “going forward”? Argh!

I'm in favour of "going forward". It makes it clear to people who may have mistakenly assumed the speaker was referring to travelling backwards in time.

Heads-up, associates, level-set, teamplay, meritocracy, infosharing..

Me, I've secretly added 'cubicle lobotomy' to the list but it's not a widely distributed term. I did not infoshare with the associates.
